https://youtu.be/zjmLDFizLos
Your custom Whatever Skateboards grip tape just arrive and you are ready to apply it to your new custom skateboard deck.

What you will need:

Here are the supplies you will need to apply your new custom grip tape:
  • Your new WhateverSkateboards custom grip tape
  • Your WhateverSkateboards skateboard or longboard deck
  • A screwdriver
  • A Razor

APPLYING CUSTOM GRIP TAPE TO YOUR SKATEBOARD OR LONGBOARD DECK

Now that you have your supplies and tools ready, let’s get started applying your new custom grip tape to your skateboard or longboard deck

Step 1: Prep your Skateboard or Longboard Deck

Set your skateboard or longboard deck on a flat surface.  If you have not already done so, please remove your trucks and wheels from the deck before installing your new custom grip tape.  Please make sure to clean your deck before applying the grip tape to the top surface of your skateboard or longboard deck.

Step 2:  Position Grip Tape & Check Sizing

Position your grip tape for application by placing your custom grip tape on top of your deck to make sure it covers the deck from one end to the other end.

Step 3: Apply the Grip Tape

When you are ready, peel the backing on your grip tape and apply it to your skateboard or longboard deck slowly while pressing the griptape down into the concave areas of your deck to avoid creating any air bubbles.

Step 4: Score the Grip Tape

Using something with a blunt edge, like an old screwdriver, make a thin line on top of the grip tape around the edge of the skateboard deck

Step 5: Cut off the Excess Grip Tape

To cur the grip tape, take a razor and run it on the underside along the score line you created.  Then to finish the rough/sharp grip tape edges, use the excess grip tape to sand down the rough edges of your freshly cut grip tape.

Step 6: Truck Holes for your Grip Tape

Using an old screwdriver, poke a hole into the grip tape from the bottom through the top of the grip tape.  Then repeat from the top of the grip tape down. That’s all there is to it!  Install your trucks and wheels and you are ready to skate in style!

Whatever Backyard Summer

Summer is right around the corner which means warm weather, longer days and more time to skate outside. You may have your favorite skate park, shopping center, boulevard or boardwalk but what about creating your own park?! This Summer, we’re looking for people to post the most creative, non-conventional skate trick videos for a chance to win your very own custom skateboard. Here’s how it works:

We want Creative, Never Before Seen Footage!

To clarify, we aren’t seeking videos of kickflip done off a 50 foot house (it would be cool but we don’t want anyone to kill themselves during this competition) we want to see you create funny videos using props from your garage, bedroom, local park etc. Use ladders, chairs, ply wood, trampolines, ANYTHING! The world is your oyster. Find a cool spot in the woods or on abandoned fishing dock. Go explore, or stay in your backyard but wherever you decide to film, be creative! If you need some inspiration, and a good laugh, check out the video from @me_5j
