Skateboarding Made Simple Vol. 1

At Whatever, we don’t judge people by how many tricks they can do, or who’s a “better” skater. We believe the skater that’s having the most fun and encouraging others to do the same is the best skater. This series of “Skateboarding Made Simple” By Aaron Kyro, a favorite skater amongst our crew is probably one of the best, if not the best video to watch that will actually help you learn how to skate. We will be posting all volumes so stay tuned!

How to Not Look Like A Complete Beginner

You’ve seen the videos we posted by Aaron Kyro such as the best skate tricks for beginners, skateboarding made simple, and 10 things every beginner should know how to do well. We have all heard the phrase “fake it till you make it” and sometimes it is completely necessary to use. No one wants to look like a beginner at the skate park or in front of their friends, so watch this video if you want to learn how to not look like a complete beginner…Even if you really are ;).

Braile Skateboarding: Teaching an 8 Year old How to Ollie

If you saw our last video, Aaron Kyro taught us the quickest way to learn to Ollie. Here he proves his steps are fool-proof by teaching this rad 8 year old how to ollie step by step! If you follow the steps and practice each one until you got them down. You can put it all together and Ollie with success!

Linda Vista Skate Park in San Diego

Linda-Vista-Skatepark-1030x579

We have got some exciting news for our local skate community here in San Diego. Most of you have probably heard about the world class skate park is being built in the valley of our very on Linda Vista. The park was designed by Site Design Group from Carlsbad, CA and will be 35,000 square feet of skate heaven once the park is completed. Located at San Diego Recreation Centers 7064 Levant St. San Diego, CA 92111.

What Makes it Epic

The park will be equipped with a competition sized vert bowl, massive street zone, snaking ditch run, transition snake run, flow bowl, and signature full pipe. The coolest thing about the park is that all of these features are weaved into the natural terrain and landscape it was built on.

Why it’s Great for The Community

The park also doesn’t obstruct pedestrians or create any obstacles, because they have built a pedestrian bridge directly above the skate park that spans over the width of the park. This will be San Diego’s largest skate park and in 7 short months the park will open on August 15th. Until then, we can all live vicariously through the “Sims” like people in these photos!

5 Easiest Skate Tricks for Beginners

In this Video by Braille Skateboarding, Aaron Kyro tells us the five easiest skate tricks for beginners. He lists the five easiest tricks as 1. Ollie, 2. Frontside 180, 3. Backside 180, 4. Pop Shove-it, 5. Frontside Pop Shove-it. While most skaters- professional or amateur would agree, he takes this knowledge and goes a step back to what the five easiest “tricks” would be before you even Ollie. Watch to find out more and get some great tips!
